Cornerstone charolais females
Our cows have been selected because they fit our image of the most productive female. We do not have the time or the space to keep females that are not productive.

We pride ourselves on feeding the best forages we can produce and supplementing our replacement animals with a pellet. The cows need to stay in optimal body condition and put down quality milk for their calves on this ration.
We select pedigrees for consistency, phenotypic excellence and maternal qualities.
A wise cattlemen once told me "build the cowherd and the bulls will naturally come".

"ESMERELDA"

We selected this female as a calf out of the Prairie Cove Charolais program in Alberta. She has since become a favourite in the show ring as well as in the herd at home. She has developed into a structurally sound female with a great udder and lots of milk. Her pedigree traces back to the Stauffers Madison cow family that PCC has built their program around. We expect Esmerelda to be part of our cow herd for many years, look for her in the embryo program in the future.

To say we are excited about the future of French Maid in our herd is an understatement! She encompasses all of the traits that we look for in a brood cow and show heifer. We selected her out of Kyle Stevenson's herd as a calf and have been super impressed ever since. Her show record is phenomenal, her temperament is amazing and her pedigree is even more outstanding. Zeal has been making cattle that work in the show ring and then go out in the pasture and don't disappoint. We are looking forward to having French Maid in the donor pen this spring!

" GLAMOUR GIRL"

We selected this top notch heifer calf from the Prairie Cove program this summer. She had everything we were looking for; big topped, deep hipped, sleek necked and a superb temperament. Glamour Girl has already hit the Ontario show circuit and we look forward to watching her develop into the fall. She is sired by TR DSUL 100 Proof, a bull that has proved his worth stateside making those high dollar show heifers. Glamour Girl also traces back to the Sparrows Tempest 174K cow family that Prairie Cove have built their program around.

BAKER FARMS CRAWFORD 1C
Crawford is the only horned female in the herd, she has the performance and look that we like in our cattle with an added bonus of a great temperament. Crawford is moderate framed and long sided. Her calves always have a little extra hip and top in them; one bull is a herd sire in a commercial herd and the other heifer calf is now at Springside Farms in Alberta.
S.S.S DEVILISH INTENT 5D
We purchased Devil as the high selling Charolais heifer calf in the Royal Elite Sale. She was purchased to be a lead-off female to our Charolais program as well as a 4H heifer, I think she has accomplished both those things. She has had a good run of heifer calves for us! Look for her daughters in the future of our and others programs.
BAKER FARMS 5E "Princess"
Princess was selected as a heifer calf out of the Baker Farms herd, she is a small framed female with a good temperament and a really nice udder. She was a show heifer for us and has turned into a hard working cow that we look forward to having in our herd for a long time. She is sired by the popular Turton bull, genetics that stand the test of time!

We selected 622D "Deloris" from the Prairie Cove inaugural "Miss" Female Sale. She is straight in her lines, tidy in her udder and goes back to a reliable maternal cow family on the dams side as well as the powerful Rome bull on the sire sire. We are excited for her February born PCC Brewitt heifer calf!
BAKER FARMS CHARLEY 19C
Charley is another well built female with tons of production bred into her. She is a Montezuma daughter going back to a cow from Ivan Hutchinson's herd. Charley was an over-age bred heifer when we bought her and she has done a great job ever since we added her to our herd.

In the summer of 2020 we visited Stevenson Show Stock and we were in the market for a donor female. This is the kind of cow we were searching for. She is pure POWER and is also elegant in her design with a tidy udder. We are awaiting her mating to White Bear in 2022!! She has two daughters working in the Balamore herd.

We are so happy with the Zeal daughters that we have had that we just had to own another one. We were looking through spring sales and this fancy female caught our eye immediately in the Balamore catalogue. She is long bodied, thick topped and correct on her feet and legs. We look forward to this young female being part of our brood cow program.
